Day 2 started off with the keynote from Greg Lotko, Namik Hrle, and Chris Muncan, a very interesting discussion about Mainframe and Mainframers, and the future of modern hybrid IT.
After the keynote, Damir Wilder and Iqbal Goralwalla from Triton Consulting delivered an excellent session on hybrid HADR clusters. Their presentation sparked a lively discussion in the room about the cloud providers many of us are currently using, highlighting both opportunities and challenges in deploying hybrid architectures.
Post-lunch, Michal Bialecki from Broadcom gave an excellent session on monitoring the performance of dynamic SQL. His talk included a fantastic example of using Grafana to display Db2 stats, something I will be playing with when I get back to the UK.
As for today, I’d highly recommend Gareth Copplestone-Jones and Bart Steegmans’ session on High Performance DBATs, happening later in Aristotle 1 at 5:40PM.
