DB2 Geek’s Geocaching Clues

Here are the DB2 Geek Geocaching competition clues! Good luck and see you all soon. 

Clue #1:

  • Count the number of flagpoles outside the Epic Sana hotel and multiply this by the maximum number of bytes in a DB2 schema
  • Use the 4-digit number in the following map reference and go to this location: 38.723472,-9.nnnn
  • What is the building number of the law firm (“Advogados”) at this location? Take a photo!

Clue #2:

  • Use the first digit of the answer from Clue #1 and concatenate the answer to the following:
  • Take the largest precision of a DB2 timestamp column and add 10
  • Use the resulting 3-digit number in the following map reference to find the location for the next clue: 38.nnn, -9.1565
  • How many arches can you see spanning the square (not including the one the little church is built into? Take a photo!

Clue #3:

  • Find the last two digits of the year when DB2 for LUW V9.1 and DB2 for z/OS V8 both went out of support
  • Multiply this number by the answer from Clue #2, then add 65
  • Use the resulting 3-digit number in the following map reference and go to this location: 38.721, -9.nnn
  • Ignoring the frame, how many vertical bars are there in total protecting the 3 windows on the lower floor of number 168? Take a photo!

Clue #4:

  • Use the 2-digit answer from Clue #3 in the following map reference and go to this location: 725, -9.nn7
  • Take a photo! There is a triangular traffic island here. How many vertical poles are on the island, including traffic signs etc?
  • Take this number, multiply it by 12 and then multiply by the maximum number of columns in an index key.
  • This is your final answer – write it on the entry from (you can pick this up from the DBI booth 4) and hand in at the Triton party for a chance to win a great prize!
