Db2 Professional – z/OS Specialist
Ian Harrison is an experienced Db2 professional with a focus on the z/OS platform. Over the course of his career, he has worked with a range of well-known organisations, including Aviva (formerly Norwich Union), Ford Motor Company, Barclaycard, Abbey National, and Royal Insurance. This diverse experience has given him a broad and practical understanding of database management and application support in large, complex environments.
His expertise includes disaster recovery strategies, SQL performance tuning, migration methods, and application support. A key part of his role has been acting as a vital link between application teams and Db2 systems programmers, helping to align technical and business needs and keep projects running effectively.
Since joining Triton Consulting in May 2023, Ian has contributed to major Db2 projects for one of the UK’s largest banks. His work includes Db2 database design for performance, readiness for Db2 V13, large-scale conversion of tablespaces to UTS, and troubleshooting performance issues.
