The Database Backup and Recovery study consists of three phases:
Phase One: Data Collection and Analysis
We will ask you for some information that will help us gain a high-level understanding of your environment and prepare for Phase Two. That data will include, among other items, a listing of your Db2 for z/OS log inventory and the output of some SQL queries provided by Triton for you to run against your Db2 for z/OS catalogue.
This data is a prerequisite for Phase Two.
Phase Two: In-depth Interviews
The Triton Study team will use the information provided to arrange and carry out a set of interviews. The interviews will help the team gain a thorough understanding of your business’s availability and resilience requirements, as well as how the Db2 for z/OS logging environment and your backup and recovery processes are set up to meet those requirements.
Following those interviews, we will prepare and deliver a study report with prioritised findings and recommendations. First, we will send you a draft to review and provide feedback to the study team. Then, a final version will be presented to your executive and technical teams.
Phase Three: Optional Follow-on Implementation
Following the study report, if you require assistance in the project management and implementation of the Database Backup and Recovery Study recommendations (in part or in full), then Triton will be happy to provide that assistance based on an agreed schedule.
