The Scottish Db2 Users Group (SDUG) brings together database professionals from across Scotland who work with IBM Db2. The group provides a friendly space for sharing knowledge, learning from peers, and keeping up with the latest developments in the Db2 world. Regular meetings give DBAs, developers, architects, and anyone working with Db2 a chance to exchange ideas, pick up practical tips, and hear from experienced speakers.
We’re pleased to share that Triton Consulting will once again be involved in the 2026 SDUG event, taking place on 8th January 2026 at Lloyds Head Office – The Mound, Edinburgh.
Featured Speaker: Alan Roberts
This year, Alan Roberts from Triton Consulting is scheduled to present one of the sessions. Alan will be delivering John Campbell’s “Db2 Mass Recovery – Hints and Tips”, based on John’s extensive experience in helping organisations plan for, manage, and recover from large-scale Db2 outages.
The session will cover practical, real-world guidance on how to approach mass recovery scenarios, focusing on:
- How to prepare your Db2 environment so recovery is faster and more reliable
- Common pitfalls and how to avoid them
- Techniques that simplify recovery planning
- Tips gained through years of hands-on experience in the field
Attendees are invited to meet up with Alan during the event for a chat, networking, or to discuss Db2 challenges. Feel free to contact him directly to arrange a time: alan.roberts@triton.co.uk
