The GS | Forge26 conference agenda has now been released, giving attendees their first detailed look at what promises to be another jam-packed week of enterprise technology, IBM Z and mainframe innovation. Taking place from 2-5 November 2026 at Whittlebury Park, Towcester, Forge26 will once again bring together professionals, vendors, students and technology leaders from across the enterprise computing community.
Following the successful Call for Papers campaign earlier this year, the conference programme is already shaping up to deliver a diverse mix of talks and discussions. Featuring sessions covering Db2, CICS, IMS, security, systems management, application development, hybrid cloud, AI, data storage, performance and career development.

Forge26 combines introductory learning opportunities with advanced technical content. Rob Gould | Db2 Load – Strategies to Speed Up Loading Very Large Tables

With the push for more and more availability replacing the data in very large tables with many indexes can be problematic especially when the business is enforcing small outage windows.
Rob’s presentation outlines how a process was designed to replace the data in a 1.6bn row table in the required outage window when the initial load time was nearly 5 times the available window.
Objectives:
- Present the issues with loading very large Db2 Tables.
- Demonstrate the process of speeding up the load with examples and timings of how each change improved the run times.
- Supply Strategies for customers to try on their own sites.
Alan Roberts | Reorg, Runstats and Copy Strategies – An Overview of Best Practice

Most housekeeping was designed and implemented many years ago. This session is a reminder that your companies’ policies need regular reviewing. Alan will look at selective RUNSTATS including a high-level view on how to set them up and the importance of cleaning up old or stale statistics. Alan will also highlight what the latest reorg selection criteria recommendations are. Alan’s session will also suggest people review their Copy policies with an eye on recovery times and application usage.
