James Gill
James Gill, Triton’s Head of Modernisation Services, has over 25 years of experience working with Db2 for z/OS and all supporting aspects of z/OS systems.
As the head Modernisation Services, James is responsible for overseeing Triton’s Application Modernisation, DataOps and DevOps offerings.
DevOps has become another industry buzzword but has revolutionised the quality and reliability of application delivery. With a long standing focus on development and support automation, this has been a topic of focus for Triton for a long time. Whether this is by automated provisioning of mainframe development and functional testing environments in private cloud (IBM zD&T), creating automation to deliver CICS and DB2 application and object changes through the route-to-live or automating application performance trending charts, we are helping the very largest customers step into mainframe DevOps.
James Gill comes from a background of small highly technical teams, where automation of tasks to ensure delivery reliability and quality has always been a necessity. Building solutions using Rexx and assembler on a mainframe, Groovy pipelines in Jenkins or Urbancode, or building bash scripts on OpenShift, we help customers bring the best solutions.
James is an IBM Gold Consultant and IBM Champion for Data and AI. He is a regular presenter at IDUG EMEA and a prolific blogger on the Triton Consulting technical blog channel.
