Triton Consulting selected to support Pulsen Retail in a major database migration
Triton Consulting, the DB2 and Information Management specialists, are delighted to announce that they have been engaged by premier Swedish IT solution provider, Pulsen Retail to assist with a large-scale database migration.
Pulsen Retail embarked on a major project to migrate their DB2 infrastructure from z/Linux to Power Linux in a tight stipulated timescale. The project also covered an upgrade from DB2 9.7 to DB2 11.1.
Pulsen Retail delivers retail solutions based on Pulsen’s uniquely long experience in both IT and commerce. The company’s core software, Harmoney, is a scalable solution that enables customers to handle bricks and mortar stores, ecommerce solutions, warehousing, purchasing, logistics, payment systems and much more in a single system. Every day, the company helps the largest ecommerce companies in the Nordic region handle hundreds of thousands of orders every day, from consumers in over twenty countries. Pulsen Retail also delivers business consulting services to clients in the retail sector.

Triton Consulting were selected to partner with Pulsen owing to their industry renowned levels of DB2 expertise. Following discussions with Iqbal Goralwalla, Head of DB2 Managed Services, Pulsen Retail decided to utilise Triton’s Consultancy on Demand (CoD) service. CoD allows customers to purchase packages of DB2 consultancy hours which they can call-off as and when needed at an hourly increment, so giving maximum flexibility. Hours can be used for training, consultancy or development work or any planned DB2 activity – for example, version upgrades or new feature implementation.
Pulsen has also signed up to Triton’s signature 24×7 RemoteDBA service. This service is designed to provide on-going support for business-critical databases. The 24x 7 service includes the industry respected DBI Performance Monitoring tools.
