IDUG EMEA Edinburgh – Day 1

After 3 long years, it was amazing to be back at IDUG EMEA, meeting face-to-face with 3D people was such a delight, who knew people actually had backs?

We kicked off with a welcome from Iqbal Goralwalla to a couple of hundred people, an excellent turnout for 8:30 on a Sunday morning. That session finished with a thank you for Db2 legend John Campbell who retired earlier in the year.

Highlights so far, news on Db2 13 for z/OS and how we get there from Anthony Ciabattoni and John Lyle. An excellent session on Db2 locking from Gareth Copplestone-Jones, followed by chats with old friends at the welcome reception and a dash to get tickets for the Monday night get togethers. All finished off in a piano bar in the very early morning singing Billy Joel songs badly. An excellent start to the week.
